Fitness Content Ideas That Will Grow Your Business Online

Updated: Aug 26

Fitness pros, trainers, coaches—your workouts aren’t the only flex, your content is too.

The truth is, content is what gets you seen, trusted, and booked. You could be the best trainer in your city, but if nobody sees you on their feed, someone else will get the clients you deserve.

The problem? Most fitness professionals only post random workout clips or inconsistent selfies. That’s not a strategy. And that’s exactly why I built the Content Playbook series — to give different industries the blueprint for content that actually grows their business.

In this first episode, I break down the essentials for the fitness world. Here’s how you can turn your workouts, your clients, and your lifestyle into content that builds trust and brings in business.

The Basics of Fitness Content (What Every Trainer Should Post)

  • High-quality workout photos and videos

  • Posting your schedule and services

  • Showing the vibe and atmosphere of your gym or sessions

  • Telling your story and showing your team

The Basics of Fitness Content (What Every Trainer Should Post)

Workout tutorials and fitness tips are your bread and butter. But don’t just throw up random clips. Think about beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels so people at any stage can follow along. Clear, short, and consistent tutorials will position you as the go-to resource in your space.

Workout Videos That Actually Convert

Your client transformations are your real marketing machine. Document before-and-after photos, collect testimonials, and record short clips where clients explain how you’ve helped them. Every new client should sign a waiver that allows you to create content — because that content will attract the next one.

Social Proof and Client Testimonials

People don’t just want to see what happens in the gym. They want to see what happens outside of it. Share your meal prep, your daily routine, your motivation on off-days. When people connect with your lifestyle, they’ll trust you to guide theirs.

Lifestyle Content Beyond the Gym

It’s not just about your face. Highlight your clients. Post weekly “member spotlights” — like celebrating Elizabeth for showing up 3 times a week or Joe for staying consistent with his program. This type of content builds relatability and credibility that no amount of flexing can match.

Create POV & Trendy Content 🎶

Want to stand out? Try filming POV-style workouts with a GoPro or Meta glasses so people see training through your perspective. Or tap into TikTok and IG trends — crunches, jump rope, or planks to the latest viral song. Simple ideas done consistently will separate you from the noise.

Batch It or Burn Out 🗓

You’re running a gym, training clients, maybe even juggling other businesses. You don’t have time to shoot daily. That’s why batching your content is a game-changer. Spend 2–3 days filming everything for the month, then edit and schedule it out.

Final Thoughts : The more you show up, the more people trust you. The more they trust you, the more they buy into you.

That’s the whole point of Content Playbook: giving different industries the strategies they need to win online.
